As part of efforts at repositioning the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government and make it compliant with 21st Century demands, the Office of the Education Secretary in the council is set to hold a one – day training for its staff, head of schools and other stakeholders.
The training themed, “Transformative Leadership and Administrative Competence in 21st Century Education,” is scheduled to hold at the Methodist Primary School Hall, Methodist Complex, Allison Street, Ikorodu, on Thursday, 9th October, 2025.
Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Dr Hakeem Shittu, will chair the programme, while Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Permanent Board Member, LASUBEB, is the Keynote Speaker and Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Executive Assistant to the Governor LASPARK and Barr. Olalekan Biliamin Onafeko, Clerk Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr.Akinnusi Felix Akintunde, HOU Teachers Professional Development, LASUBEB are Guest Speakers
Panelists scheduled for the training are Barr. Ibrahim Lawal, Dr. Aminat Olawunmi Ige, Dr. Adeolu Oyekan and Mr Abdullateef Adedeji Bello.
According to the Education Secretary, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, expected participants at the seminar are all Heads of Sections, Headteachers, Desk Officers in various sections of the LGEA, and Chairmen and Secretaries of the School Based Management Board (SBMC), Parent Forum (PF) and Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT)
Odumbo said the one-day training is a capacity-building programme designed to further bring stakeholders in tune with the 21st Century education management.
Speaking on the resource persons and what await participants, Odumbo said:
